“Great time!”

“The bay is beautiful, and as long as you understand that these are floating campers, this is a nice spot to stay. The communication was not great with the hosts, and I sent a few messages without reply. The unit was not dirty, exactly, but there were hairs in the bathroom that were missed in cleaning. It wasn't impeccably clean.”

“Great price for very clean, comfortable lodging located right in the middle of Chincoteague. Staff was super. Friendly and helpful. There is a screened-in pavilion with full fridge and stove/oven and ice machine for guests to make meals and gather. Only "weird" thing is microwave and fridge are in the bathroom.”

“We would absolutely stay here again. The staff was friendly, breakfast was delicious, the room/beds comfortable. Convenient to shops and the restaurant right next door was a plus. Gorgeous views! Very nice pool area. I was a little concerned about the highway but you can’t hear any traffic noise at all. Overall the property rates high on our list and I tend to be picky. Oh the hot water was pleasantly hot as I love a good hot bath! Highly recommend!”

“The primary bedroom was very small but with the rooftop deck and the front porch it really wasn't an issue. The view of the sunset was incredible. The folks working at the "general store/check-in" were really nice. I love the rule of quiet after 10:00pm. We went the first week of June and it was really peaceful. We are booking for the same week next year!!!”

“We have been visiting Chincoteague for many years and understand that many of the hotels are older, which has never been an issue for us. This trip, we decided to try Birchwood Inn instead of our usual accommodations. Upon arrival, the office sign indicated it was open, but the door listed three different phone numbers to call for assistance. After finally reaching someone, I was informed that our room key had been left in the mailbox beside the office door, meaning anyone could have potentially...

“Excellent location, clean, roomy, beautiful views, staff was helpful and courteous! ”

“The beds were comfy. The dining are is well designed and the waffles were yummy. You do need to get to breakfast early. The pool was fun. Having a fridge and microwave is very convenient. The location is great. Parking was simple. The staff were attentive and friendly. The pool area would be next level with the addition of a few palm plants. Overall we were happy with our stay.”

“This is our third or fourth stay at the Charlotte and it has changed over the years. Gone is the delicious included breakfast, a manned front desk, and a little bit of the charm. Our room was clean but HOT. A/C unit (a split) was mounted over a large armoire so it blew on the top of it instead of out into the room. Opened the windows but NOISY with a fellow who felt the need to rev his huge truck engine for HOURS and a particularly annoying dog the barked at everything! The hotel can't help...

“STOP... slick advertisements make this place look like a welcoming 4 Seasons resort. Which ever direction you're heading, keep driving past this place... far better accommodations a few more miles either north or south. Furnishings for the room appear to be acquired from a past local prison sale. The rug was dirty, tops of counters were not cleaned, the bed stand was so small that only the lamp from a local thrift store could accommodate it, etc... words inadequate to describe the numerous...
